WLB to Fold

Sorry everyone, I just can't do this. School is going to be busier than I have ever imagined and there's no time to be simming games every week. Also, I think all the leagues are becoming watered down and not as fun, another reason I am unwilling to continue. Why spend time doing something I don't find fun anymore? High school years are suppose to be fun and I am sure as hell not going to do this to please people I met over the internet (no offense lol). Again, I am sorry if you were looking forward to this, but it's just gotta happen. The NFL Pick League will is still going on. Please continue to support the MLF, CHLA and SARL.

WLB Downsize

As Chief Operating Officer I have been given the duty of informing the owners...

TC and I talked it over, and we both agreed that we need to make the league have 8 teams. If we had 8 teams, we could have 2 interleague weeks. If we had 10, the schedule would be messed up, and inconsistent. It would also be 10 games less TC would have to sim. And it would be a lot easier for the league since this is only the first season.

So is anyone willing to step down in the Pacific? We just dropped the open spot in the Atlantic since no one officially claimed it.

If no one would step down, we'd have to take the team away, and that would just cause arguments. If you get dropped, then you will be the #1 option in being a replacement owner.

Twin Cities Franchise Relinquishes Name "Divers"

During a press conference today, the Twin Cities franchise announced it will no longer be using the name Divers. Owner Neil "TC" Lommel said during the press conference, "The name didn't fit the image we were going for as a franchise, both on and off the field. We have not confirmed a new name, so we will be carrying the franchise tag until further notice." He also went on to say it was highly likely the team would drop the colors of black, powder blue and graphite.

All-Star Game, Playoff and Championship Locations

Voting begins today to decide where the All-Star Game, Playoff Series and Championship Series will be held. Here is how the voting will work:

I need each owner to send me an e-mail (nlomm21@q.com) and tell me where you want the All-Star Game, the Pacific and Atlantic Championship Series, and the WLB Championship Series to be played.

The reason I am asking you to send me an e-mail is because with polls, anyone can vote, but I would like only owners to vote. Also, the annoucement will be a surprise for everyone instead of just seeing what the results are when the poll would close. DO NOT place votes in the comments.

The All-Star Game and WLB Championship Series will be held in opposite sides of the Mississippi River. For example, if the All-Star Game is held in AT&T Park, the Championship Series will be held in the east, or the Atlantic League side. Please keep that in mind when you vote. Also, the PLCS and ALCS cannot be held in the same locations as the All-Star and WLB Championship.

Here are the locations to choose from:

Pacific:

- Angel Stadium of Anaheim
- AT&T Park
- Chase Field
- Dodger Stadium
- Minute Maid Park
- Oakland-Almeda County Coliseum
- PETCO Park
- Rangers Ballpark in Arlington
- Safeco Field

Atlantic:

- LandShark Stadium
- Miller Park
- Rogers Centre
- Tropicana Field
- Turner Field

Sorry, that's just how the lists worked out. Post questions you may have in the comments, but once again DO NOT post your votes in the comments. Once I have the ten votes, I will announce. Thanks.

League News

Here are a few announcements concerning the league.

- It seems the Twitter feed in the sidebar doesn't load half the time, and it's kind of an eyesore when it doesn't work, so I'm going to remove that and start a links section where you will be able to find the Twitter page.

- I have an idea for a blog to compliment this one. I never talked to Mike about it yet but I'm telling you anyway. Instead of posting concepts and ideas and things like that on this blog, we could have a seperate blog for those things where the owners pretty much go wild and can post concepts and what not. And then this blog would be the place for the games, official uniform and logo unveilings and announcements, polls, awards, and any other announcements and news. It would keep this blog more neat and we can all have a place to get ideas and help other owners come up with ideas, along with showing off your concepts. What do you think?

- Mike and I have been talking about putting a suspension system in place for players AND owners. That means team owners could be suspended too for doing things deemed unacceptable by the league. We'll let you know when we have it all figured out.

- And finally, please leave your e-mail addresses and AIM screennames (if you have one) in the comments so I can contact you if needed. Mine is nlomm21 by the way.

League Logos Unveiling

Winter League Baseball would like to introduce the official league logos. Effective immediately, these will be the logos used to represent the WLB, the Pacific League and the Atlantic League.

OFFICIAL WINTER LEAGUE BASEBALL LOGO SHEET

These have been in the works for a couple weeks now. They are by no means anything over the top, just a nice and simple set of logos that don't use red and blue. Yes, green and gold are the league colors. There are a couple hidden elements here and there, see if you catch them.

Team Selection

There are two leagues, as said earlier, the Pacific Division and the Atlantic Division, each with five teams. First come, first serve. If you plan on getting a team, making logos, and never contributing to the site, please don't. I want all owners to be involved. The requirements you need to meet are:

- City chosen must have a ballpark in use by a Triple-A or Double-A team, an MLB Spring Training facility, a ballpark no longer in use by the MLB, or a known stadium that has been converted to baseball before. Outdoor ballparks MUST be in locations where it does not snow.

- We are looking for teams with names similar to that of the minor leagues, but any can be submitted for approval.

Team names, locations, stadiums, etc. can be submitted in the comments, and they will be reviewed by the executives and either be approved or denied. Approved teams will be added to the list.

Pacific Division

- Twin Cities Franchise - Minneapolis, MN - HHH Metrodome - TC
- Sacramento Solons - Sacramento, CA - Raley Field - bonehedz
- El Paso Stars - El Paso, TX - Cohen Stadium - NEP
